Leading Excellence Maryborough

LEAD Loddon Murray partners with the Victorian Government, Committee for Maryborough, Central Goldfields Shire and Go Goldfields to offer a dynamic leadership development program for residents of Central Goldfields Shire. Leading Excellence Maryborough is an annual program for emerging leaders to master community leadership skills and seek to understand important local issues.

Participants spend a range of program days together, exploring and seeking to understand local issues from the perspective of residents, community groups, business and industry in the Central Goldfields Shire. A key focus of the program is developing leaders who will influence the narrative of the community of Maryborough, instilling pride, confidence and connectedness in community members and the collective identity of the town.

“I started Leading Excellence Maryborough feeling lost but with a desire to positively shape the community I’m raising my children in. With my values defined, trust restored in my instincts and a joyful heart I’m prepared for the next adventure.” Vanessa Parker, Graduate 2018

Choose your level of participation.

In 2020 LEAD Loddon Murray is broadening the reach of Leading Excellence, by allowing residents to attend all, or part of the 2020 Workshop Series. We’ve opened up the format of the leadership program to encourage as many community members as possible to embrace the opportunity to learn skills, make new friends and build opportunities.

Anyone can be a leader, anywhere, at any time.

We believe leadership is the process of influencing others to contribute to an outcome in a way they would not have done working independently. Strong, vibrant, sustainable communities need capable leaders. Residents who would like to make a difference in our community by taking on a leadership role on community groups, service clubs, sporting associations or serving on Council benefit from access to skills, experience and networks to support them in their roles. Leading Excellence Maryborough is focussed on supporting community members who are emerging leaders, to give them the confidence they need to take on new positions and make a positive contribution to our community.

Participants can choose to register for each individual workshop that meets their needs or interests.
